NBTCA
The computer association of Ningbo Tech University, founded in 2002. I joined its development team in 2018, served as president (23rd term), and remain one of its main developers and administrators.
GitHub organizationThe problem
A student club loses its knowledge every year when a cohort graduates. The community needed services that keep running and documents that outlast any one generation of members.
How it works
- The community has 46 members and 47 public repositories on GitHub, free repair days for the whole campus, tech talks and a documentation site.
- As president I revised the charter: proposals take shape in the bazaar and decisions are made in the cathedral, with four departments for development, repair, publicity and organization.
- I help run the infrastructure: Kubernetes and Docker Compose deployments, serverless services on Cloudflare Workers and Pages, a self-hosted Logto account system, a Headscale network and a status page.
- I wrote and maintain the @nbtca/prompt terminal client, the nbtcal calendar library and the heartbeat status page, and I am the top contributor to the documentation site.
- Saturday, the repair-ticket system in Go, has handled 700+ tickets. I contributed to it and led the effort around it.
- I have organised tech talks and repair days since 2018, often with more than a hundred attendees each.
